    Wear Characteristics and Influence of Injector Needle Valve Couplings

    The function of the injector nozzle is to atomize the fuel into particles and distribute them to the combustion chamber to mix with the air for combustion. Therefore, the injector nozzle is required to have a certain injection pressure, a certain range and a certain spray cone angle, the mist must be good, and the fuel can be stopped quickly at the end of the fuel injection without oil dripping. The main parts of the injector nozzle are the needle valve and the needle valve body, which are collectively called the injector nozzle assembly, and its normal service life is generally more than 2500h. However, due to improper use, there are very few people with a life span of more than 1500h in practice. The following analysis is made on the reasons for the early damage of the injector assembly and the prevention methods.
    1 Reasons for the early damage of the injector assembly
    (1) Random disassembly. Most operators think that the failure of the fuel supply system of a diesel engine is relatively common, so once a diesel engine fails, they often do not carefully find out the cause of the failure, but disassemble, check and replace the fuel supply system one by one. However, the processing and assembly precision requirements of the injector nozzle assembly are very strict, and once disassembled and installed, the service life may be shortened by tens or even hundreds of hours. In addition, bumps, dirt, scratches or even deformation may be caused by improper disassembly and installation, resulting in poor technical condition and reduced service life.
    (2) Improper cleaning. When cleaning the injector nozzle assembly, mix it with other parts and use unclean cleaning fluid, or even assemble it without cleaning it. If the anti-rust oil is not thoroughly cleaned for the new pair, it is very easy to cause the working surface of the pair to be bumped and scratched, contaminated with impurities and abrasives, and the wear and tear will be aggravated during work.
    (3) Improper adjustment of fuel injection pressure. When changing the injector nozzle or the high-speed fuel injection pressure, if the fuel injection pressure is adjusted too low or too high, the service life of the injector nozzle assembly will be shortened, especially when the fuel injection pressure is too high, it will cause the injector nozzle Part wear increases.
    (4) Improper assembly. In order to prevent oil leakage, a small number of operators overtighten the lock nut of the injector nozzle, which causes the injector nozzle to bear too much pressure, deforms, destroys the assembly accuracy, and causes the movement of even parts to be blocked and damaged.
    (5) Fuel quality is poor. The use of low-quality fuel, because its lubricating performance, sealing performance and viscosity and other indicators cannot meet the requirements of use, it is easy to cause failures such as carbon deposits in the injector nozzle. In addition, wrong practices such as unpurified fuel, damaged fuel filter, or removing the filter element to make the oil circuit "smooth" will shorten the service life of even parts.
