Assembly of injectors

1) Check the alignment of the injector head and plunger by hand. Remove the plunger and apply fuel or test oil to it. Hold the injector vertically (nozzle tip down), let the plunger drop a few drops of oil into the nozzle tip. Insert the plunger about 12.7 mm into the plunger sleeve, the plunger must slide in smoothly. Hold down the plunger adapter by hand so that the plunger is tightly pressed in the seat surface of the injector head and rotated 90°. Hold the fuel injector so that the fuel injector head is closed. When the fuel injector is lifted up quickly, the plunger should be able to slide out of the fuel injector. If the plunger does not slide out, remove the plunger, apply oil to the top of the plunger and repeat the test.

2) Use the 3375209 injector plunger restriction inspection tool to check the restriction of the plunger. Place the assembled injector on the tool (the injector head is placed on the support), loosen the set screw on the torque wrench rod, adjust the rod to the required length and tighten the set screw, so that the air compression cylinder Charge the pressure and adjust the air pressure regulator to 207 ± 15 kPa, turn the injector body and observe the reading of the torque wrench. If the reading exceeds 0.226 N·m, remove the injector, place it on the assembly jig, loosen and retighten the injector tip cap. Recheck the injectors on the 3375209 Plunger Jam Inspection Tool. If this tool is not available, loosen the injector tip tight cap, turn the injector tip 1/4 turn and retighten. Can be redone if necessary.
