The advantages of VE type distribution pumps
Distribution pumps can be divided into rotor distribution pumps and single plunger distribution pumps according to their structural forms. In the mid-20th century, the British CAV Company developed the DPA rotor-type distribution pump. In the 1960s, my country also copied and mass-produced it, and equipped it with domestic harvest tractors. Due to some defects in the performance of this rotor-type distribution pump, production was stopped at the end of the 1970s. In the mid-1970s, the German Bosch Company developed the VE-type single plunger distribution pump. With its simple structure, perfect performance, small size and light weight, it was quickly favored by diesel engine manufacturers around the world and widely promoted, becoming the multi-cylinder fuel injection pump with the largest production volume in the world. Subsequently, Japanese Denso Company and Jacksell Company successively introduced the patented technology of German Bosch Company to produce VE type distribution pumps. Compared with in-line plunger injection pumps, VE type distribution pumps have many advantages:
1. Small size, few parts and light weight
2. Good oil supply uniformity. The oil supply uniformity of the VE distribution pump is completely guaranteed by manufacturing precision, which helps reduce the noise of the diesel engine.
3. Good high-speed adaptability. The maximum speed of the in-line plunger fuel injection pump is 2000r/min, while the VE distribution pump can reach 3000r/min.
4. The in-line fuel injection pump separates fuel from lubricating oil and requires high sealing performance. Once diesel leaks and dilutes the oil, it will accelerate the wear of parts and easily cause failure. The VE distribution pump body is filled with diesel and has self-lubricating effect, so there is no need to change the oil regularly.
5. The various control mechanisms of the VE distribution pump are relatively independent. It can be combined into corresponding control mechanisms according to different needs of diesel engines.
6. The VE distribution pump uses a solenoid valve to control the on and off of fuel, making it flexible and convenient to operate on the car.
7. The VE distribution pump has an anti-reversal function, which can prevent the diesel engine from reversing.
8. The installation position of the VE distribution pump on the diesel engine is flexible and can be installed horizontally or vertically.
Compared with in-line pumps, VE distribution pump parts require higher machining accuracy, stricter requirements for materials and heat treatment, and stricter requirements for diesel cleanliness. Only by meeting these conditions can the normal operation and service life of the fuel injection pump be ensured.
