The free travel of the clutch pedal becomes smaller when going uphill and larger when going downhill. There is a low-speed truck, and the strange phenomenon that the free travel of the clutch pedal becomes smaller when going uphill and larger when going downhill occurs. At first, it was thought that the fixing bolt of the engine on the frame was loose, but the fault was not eliminated after tightening. Later, the bottom cover of the clutch chamber was opened and the flywheel was moved forward and backward with a pry bar. It was found that the axial clearance of the crankshaft flywheel group reached 4 mm. Finally, it was found that the thrust gasket of the crankshaft had fallen off. Analyze the mechanism of the fault. Because the axial clearance of the crankshaft is too large (the limit value is 0.3 mm), when the vehicle goes downhill, the crankshaft flywheel set and the active part of the clutch (such as the separation lever) move forward together due to the use of gravity, while the clutch fork and the separation bearing still do not move on the original position. Thus the free travel of the clutch pedal increases; When the car goes up the hill, the crankshaft flywheel group moves backward, so does the clutch disengaging lever, which is closer to the distance from the disengaging bearing, thus reducing the free travel of the clutch pedal. In addition, because the axial clearance of the crankshaft is too large, the crankshaft frequently moves in the engine operation, driving the connecting rod and piston also move forward and backward, causing the piston "biased cylinder", so the cylinder seal is not strict, resulting in the engine power rate decline.
