    Plunger Fuel Injection Pump for Diesel Engine Supply System

    The function of the fuel injection pump is to deliver high pressure fuel to the fuel injector in a timely and quantitative manner according to the operating conditions of the diesel engine and the working order of the cylinder.

    1.Multi-cylinder vehicle diesel fuel injection pump should meet the following requirements

    (1))The amount of oil supplied to each cylinder is equal. Under the calibration condition, the difference in the oil supply of each cylinder is not more than 3%~4%. The fuel supply of the fuel injection pump should be changed with the change of the diesel engine working condition, so the fuel injection pump must have the fuel supply adjustment mechanism.
    (2) The oil supply advance Angle of each cylinder is the same, and the error is less than 0.5°~1° crankshaft Angle. The fuel supply advance Angle should also change with the diesel engine working condition, so the fuel injection advance device should be installed.
    (3) The oil supply Angle of each cylinder is consistent.
    (4) Can quickly stop the oil supply to prevent the oil injector from leaking.

    There are many types of fuel injection pumps, which are widely used in automotive diesel engines, such as in-line plunger fuel injection pump and rotor distribution fuel injection pump. In addition, there are pumps - nozzles and so on.

    2. Plunger type fuel injection pump series

    Because the single cylinder power of the diesel engine varies widely, if the fuel injection pump is designed and manufactured according to the cycle oil supply required by each single cylinder power, the size specifications of the fuel injection pump will be countless, causing a lot of inconvenience to production and use. Therefore, the injection pump manufacturers in the world are based on several different plunger strokes, the injection pump is divided into a few series or models, and then with different sizes of plunger coupling parts, to form a number of fuel injection pumps with different fuel supply amounts to meet the needs of various power diesel engines. Table 5-4 lists several series of in-line plunger fuel injection pumps produced in China and their main parameters.

    A, B series fuel injection pump or A, B type fuel injection pump basic structure is the same, are the traditional structure of in-line plunger fuel injection pump. The P-type fuel injection pump has a new way, and adopts the box-type sealing pump body without opening the side window to strengthen the structure of the fuel injection pump. The following describes the structure and working principle of type A and type P fuel injection pump.

    3.Working principle of A type fuel injection pump

    When the camshaft of the fuel injection pump rotates, if the tappet roller rolls on the base surface of the CAM, the plunger stops at the position of the bottom dead center of the plunger. If the roller rolls to the CAM lift section, the CAM pushes the tappet, and the tappet pushes the plunger up, while the plunger spring is compressed. When the roller rolls over the top arc of the CAM, the plunger reaches the top dead center of the plunger. Then the roller rolls in the CAM drop section, the plunger spring pushes the plunger, and the plunger pushes the tappet down until the roller rolls to the base surface of the CAM, and the plunger returns to the bottom stop of the plunger. That is, when the fuel injection pump works, with the rotation of the camshaft, the tappet and plunger reciprocate in the tappet hole and plunger sleeve respectively between the top and bottom dead center of the plunger.
