Possible consequences of installing the diesel pump at an excessively large angle

Since the rotational speed is low during startup, the centrifugal force has little effect on the blades, and the blades stick to the inner circle of the eccentric ring by their own weight. As the angle between the blade and the vertical direction becomes larger, the component of the blade's gravity in the direction of the rotor radius gradually decreases, and the fit between the blade and the eccentric ring decreases, causing the sealing performance of the two to deteriorate, and the diesel scraping ability of the blade gradually decreases ultimately leading to a reduction in diesel delivery capacity. Insufficient diesel supply leads to a decrease in diesel supply capacity in the early stage of startup, thereby prolonging the startup time. In order to verify the correctness of the analysis, the engine was placed on a slope of about 15°, and the diesel pump center was allowed to operate within an angle of 15° from the vertical direction. As a result, the engine started smoothly within 1 to 2 seconds. In order to make up for the problem of long start-up time caused by the excessive installation angle, the diesel inlet groove and diesel outlet groove of the diesel transfer pump were optimized, as shown in Figure 5: the farther the blade rotates downward, the gravity of the blade is divided in the direction of the rotor radius. The force gradually becomes larger, which is beneficial to the scraping of diesel by the blades and significantly enhances the delivery capacity of the diesel delivery pump. After experimental verification, the optimized diesel pump starting performance fully meets the starting time requirements. By sorting out a series of reasons for the long start-up time, it was confirmed that the cause of the failure was the inconsistency between the detection status and the actual working status. From further analysis of this inconsistency, it was found that the diesel pump blades and the inner circle of the eccentric ring were not tightly matched, resulting in diesel supply in the early stage of start-up. Insufficient capacity, by rationally adjusting the positions of the diesel inlet tank and the diesel supply tank, the diesel transfer pump blades can work in a range that is conducive to diesel scraping, effectively improving the diesel supply capacity and solving the problem of long startup time. The exploration and successful solution of this problem also pointed out a new idea for the daily work of engineering and technical personnel. When dealing with technical quality issues, the usage scenarios of the product must be fully considered. Only products that meet the usage scenarios are good products.
