Problem Analysis and Maintenance of Diesel Engine Fuel Injector

1. Overhaul of nozzle holes

When the nozzle hole is blocked, it can be dredged with a steel wire with a diameter of 0.15~0.20mm. In general, the nozzle hole of the injector tends to expand due to the flushing of high-pressure oil. If the nozzle hole increases to 110% of the original hole diameter, it should be replaced with a new one.

2.Performance check

The performance inspection of the fuel injector is mainly carried out on the fuel injector test bench. The inspection items are mainly the injection pressure and atomization quality of the fuel injection. Install the fuel injector on the test bench, press the handle repeatedly to build up the oil pressure, observe the pressure gauge at the same time, and record the value of the fuel injection pressure. The start-up pressure of diesel injectors varies from model to model. For example, the injection pressure range of domestic 6135 diesel engine injectors is between 17 and 18 MPa. If the requirements of the pressure range are not met, adjust the pre-tightening force of the pressure adjusting screw. Some imported diesel engine models can also adjust the pressure by changing the thickness of the gasket, such as the 12V183TE92 diesel engine produced by the German MTU company. The inspection of diesel atomization quality is mainly to observe whether the injector has oil dripping and leakage before fuel injection, whether the oil is stopped decisively, and whether the atomization is uniform, etc.
