    High Pressure Common Rail System Composition

    The diesel high-pressure common rail injection system consists of a hydraulic system and an electronic control system. The hydraulic system is divided into low-pressure hydraulic system and high-pressure hydraulic system. The low-pressure hydraulic system includes a fuel tank, fuel transfer pump, fuel filter and low-pressure oil pipe; the high-pressure hydraulic system includes a high-pressure pump, high-pressure fuel rail, injectors and high-pressure oil pipes; the electronic control system (EDC for short) includes sensors , Electronic Control Unit (ECU), actuators (including injectors with solenoid valves, pressure control valves, glow plug control units, boost pressure regulators, exhaust gas circulation regulators, throttle valves, etc. ) and wiring harness. Among them, the injector, high-pressure pump, high-pressure fuel rail, and electronic control unit are the four core components of the diesel common rail system.

     A fuel injector is a component that atomizes and distributes fuel into the engine combustion chamber. The injection time and duration of the common rail injector are accurately calculated by the electronic control unit and then given a signal, which is then controlled by the solenoid valve.

    The function of the high-pressure pump is to compress the fuel from a low-pressure state to a high-pressure state through the plunger to meet the system and engine requirements for fuel injection pressure and fuel injection volume.

    The function of the high-pressure fuel rail is to store fuel while suppressing pressure fluctuations caused by high-pressure pump fuel supply and fuel injector injection to ensure system pressure stability. The high-pressure oil rail is common to each cylinder and is the symbol of the common rail system.
    The electronic control unit is like the brain of the engine. It collects the operating parameters of the engine, performs calculations and processing based on the stored characteristic maps, and transmits the signals to the actuators to realize engine operation control, fault diagnosis and other functions.
