    Introduction of injector control valve

    Structure and Principle
Structure: It is usually composed of solenoid valve, valve core, spring, seal, etc. The solenoid valve is its core component, which controls the movement of the valve core by generating a magnetic field through the electromagnetic coil. The valve core is used to control the passage of fuel. The spring provides a reset force to return the valve core to its initial position when the power is off. The seal ensures the sealing of the fuel system and prevents fuel leakage.
Working Principle: When the engine control unit (ECU) issues an injection command, the current passes through the electromagnetic coil of the injector control valve to generate a magnetic field. The magnetic field attracts the valve core to move upward to overcome the spring force, open the fuel passage, and allow high-pressure fuel to flow from the common rail or high-pressure oil pump to the injector. When the ECU stops sending signals, the electromagnetic coil is powered off, the magnetic field disappears, the spring pushes the valve core to reset, closes the fuel passage, and stops injecting fuel. By controlling the opening time and frequency of the solenoid valve, the ECU can accurately control the timing, duration, and amount of injection to meet the needs of different engine working conditions.

    Function
Precisely control the amount of fuel injection: According to the engine load, speed and other working conditions, the ECU accurately adjusts the opening time of the injector through the injector control valve, thereby controlling the amount of fuel injected into the engine combustion chamber, ensuring that the engine can maintain good performance and fuel economy under various working conditions.
Control injection timing: The injector control valve can accurately follow the instructions of the ECU to open and close the injector at the right time to achieve precise control of injection timing. Appropriate injection timing is crucial to the engine's combustion efficiency, power output and emission performance. For example, when the engine is cold started, advance injection timing can make the combustion more complete and improve cold start performance.
Achieve injection law control: In order to optimize the combustion process, modern diesel engines need to achieve complex injection laws, such as pre-injection, main injection, and post-injection. Under the control of the ECU, the injector control valve can flexibly control the multiple opening and closing of the injector to achieve different injection laws to reduce combustion noise, reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and improve fuel utilization.

    Type
High-speed solenoid valve control valve: It has the characteristics of fast response speed and can accurately control the opening and closing of the injector in a short time. It is suitable for occasions such as high-pressure common rail injection system that require high injection control accuracy.
Piezoelectric control valve: The piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric materials is used to control the movement of the valve core. Compared with the solenoid valve type, the piezoelectric control valve has a higher response speed and control accuracy, and can achieve more accurate injection control, but the cost is relatively high.
    Failure and impact
Solenoid valve failure: If the solenoid coil is short-circuited, open-circuited or the valve core is stuck, the injector will not be able to open or close normally, causing the engine to fail to start, unstable operation, power reduction, and increased fuel consumption.
Damage to the seal: It will cause fuel leakage, which will not only cause fuel waste, but also cause fuel odor in the engine compartment, and even fire hazards. At the same time, fuel leakage will affect the control accuracy of injection pressure and injection amount, and reduce engine performance.
Control signal failure: If the control line between the ECU and the injector control valve is broken, short-circuited or signal interfered, the control valve will not receive the correct control signal, resulting in abnormal injection control.
