    Fuel leakage problem of aviation diesel pump

    At present, my country's regulations on the amount of diesel leakage from aviation diesel pumps are the amount of operating fluid allowed to leak from the rotating shaft of the diesel pump through the sealing device, whether it is a gear pump, a rotary plate pump, a centrifugal pump, etc. in the hydraulic system or the fuel system. There is still no unified standard to solve it. According to incomplete statistics, China's current diesel leakage regulations for aviation diesel pumps vary. Even diesel pumps of the same type have roughly the same performance but different regulations. The main reason is that in the past, foreign products were imitated, all according to the provisions of the original documents. Diesel pumps do have their own characteristics and cannot be the same. However, due to the former, it often brings many unnecessary difficulties to our work. Although we have not conducted a large amount of testing and verification work on relevant foreign information, we have indeed found that some provisions are unreasonable after long-term production practice. For example, for a type of high-pressure gear pump produced by our factory, according to the regulations, the diesel leakage is allowed to be no more than one drop per time, high pressure, kilograms and centimeters per time. In fact, leakage and dripping will not affect performance and use, but they cannot leave the factory. We believe that the diesel leakage standards of diesel pumps can be divided into zones and levels according to machine models, that is, the diesel leakage amount is determined according to the position of the diesel pump on the machine. It is recommended to divide the aircraft into three zones. One is the safety area, such as the area that avoids the engine area and its gas flow. In this area, the diesel leakage volume of the pump can only be specified at one level, which is the highest level. The second category is a non-safety area, such as the adjacent parts of the engine area. In this area, the diesel pump can specify several levels of diesel leakage. The third category is a dangerous area, such as the engine area, etc.
