    Study of Actual Injection Pressure of Common Rail Injectors

    The best performance indicators for internal combustion engines are always obtained by increasing the injection pressure. Increasing the injection pressure significantly reduces the emission of accumulated modal particles while at the same time causing a significant increase in nuclear modal particles. Internal combustion engines require not only an increase in fuel injection pressure, but also an optimal adjustment of the injection pressure to the operating conditions. Many studies have been conducted from the perspective of engine combustion matching, showing that increasing the injection pressure of the fuel system is not only conducive to improving the performance index of the engine, but also reduces the emissions. However, from the point of view of matching injector performance, the actual injection pressure of the injector is the pressure of the pressure chamber in front of the spray hole, the pressure of the pressure chamber is affected by the nozzle needle valve sealing seat surface throttling effect, and its highest value is lower than the common rail pressure or supply pressure, and the average pressure of the pressure chamber in the whole process of injection is lower.

    The average pressure in the pressure chamber during the whole injection process is even lower. It can be seen from the analysis that the pressure drop in the fuel tank at the beginning of injection is not conducive to the rapid opening of the needle valve. By reducing the length of the fuel pipe between the fuel rail and the injector, it can speed up the recovery of the pressure in the fuel tank, combined with the increase of the ratio between the return volume hole and the inlet volume hole in the control chamber, improve the response speed of the needle valve, and then improve the utilisation efficiency of the high-pressure fuel in the fuel tank, so that in the original injection hole, the maximum and average injection pressure can be increased by 70% and 75% respectively, and the cyclic injection volume can be increased by 34%.
