2023 “Ford a Better World” Public Welfare Project Launched

Ford China officially launched the 2023 “Ford a Better World” corporate social responsibility project. This is the first time that Ford Motor has integrated corporate social responsibility projects with considerable industry influence in the Chinese market, such as the “Ford Environmental Protection Award”, “Ford Usable Innovation Challenge” and “Ford Employee Volunteer Action”, so as to better Promoting sustainable development, but also helping to realize Ford Motor’s corporate purpose of “creating a better world, allowing everyone to travel freely and chase their dreams”.

We will also carry out comprehensive integration and upgrading, and continue to contribute to environmental protection, youth innovation and giving back to the community through the ‘Ford Better World’ project, so that more people can travel freely and pursue their dreams.”

According to reports, the “Ford a Better World” public welfare project will continue to focus on three major areas. Among them, the “Ford Environmental Protection Award” launched in 2000 is the largest environmental protection public welfare selection activity initiated by an enterprise and operated independently in China, with the longest duration and the largest number of cumulative benefits to environmental protection organizations.

As of December 2022, the “Ford Environmental Protection Award” has accumulatively funded more than 500 outstanding environmental protection projects or organizations, awarding more than 32 million yuan in bonuses; providing more than 5,100 hours of capacity-building training for 560 environmental protection organizations across the country, with 6 participants More than 10,000 person-times, providing opportunities for more than 170,000 members of the public to better understand environmental protection public welfare projects.

This year, the “Ford Environmental Protection Award” will continue to set up three awards: “Annual Contribution Award”, “Eco-tourism Route”, and “Climate Change Action”, and organizations or individuals who have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection will donate vehicles , to better support front-line environmentalists in their work. In addition to award selection, the Ford Environmental Awards will also provide empowerment training for environmental protection practitioners around the two major themes of climate change and ecotourism, helping to cultivate and reserve talents in the environmental protection industry.

The “Ford Excellence Innovation Challenge” aimed at encouraging youth innovation and cultivating future mobility talents will continue to combine competition and training, focus on three modules of cultivation, competition, and research, and deepen cooperation with universities to empower The excellent team of the college training camp cultivates the innovative thinking and innovative practice of young talents. At the same time, the project will also conduct research on the talent needs of the automotive industry and the current situation of colleges and universities cultivating automotive talents, and release the first domestic “University Auto Talent Blue Book” to help colleges and enterprises collaborate in talent training.

Since the launch of the “Ford Excellence Challenge” in 2018, a total of 629 projects from 165 universities and colleges in 9 countries around the world have participated. 322 professional mentors in the field of travel and innovation and entrepreneurship have provided 3,800 innovative youths in 52 activities.
