The plunger is the core component of the diesel engine fuel injection system, and its main role is to control the time and amount of fuel entering the combustion chamber to achieve efficient combustion and power output.
1.Basic structure and composition.
Diesel engine plunger usually consists of plunger head, plunger sleeve rod, plunger seat and elastic tube and other components, of which the plunger head is the key part, which controls the opening and closing of the injector nozzle to realize the fuel injection.
2.Working principle.
When the diesel engine works, the high pressure fuel enters into the high pressure fuel pipe of the injector from the high pressure fuel pump, then enters into the inside of the plunger.
When the high pressure fuel enters the combustion chamber through the injection nozzle, the plunger sleeve will be pushed to the plunger seat, thus the plunger head pulls out of the injection nozzle, so that the fuel enters the combustion chamber with very fine atomization.
After the end of fuel injection, the plunger is pushed back by the elastic tube so that the plunger head closes the injector nozzle again to prevent the fuel from leaking out.
3.Functional features.
By adjusting the working mode of the plunger, better fuel economy and higher power output can be obtained. Controlling the parameters such as the pressure of the fuel into the combustion chamber and the spraying angle has a very important influence on the performance and fuel economy of the diesel engine.
