Recently, the global energy and chemical giant ExxonMobil Group and Guangdong Dongjie New Materials Co., Ltd. held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in Zhuhai. The two parties will jointly promote the application and development of cyclic olefin resin in the automotive industry and build an annual production of 100,000 tons of cyclic olefin resin project in Zhuhai Economic and Technological Development Zone. The total investment of the project is 1 billion yuan, and it is expected to be put into production at the end of September 2025.
It is understood that the project will be implemented by Jinrui Resin (Zhuhai) Co., Ltd. After completion, it will mainly produce high-performance thermosetting resins to fill the domestic material gaps in semiconductor packaging, optical films and other fields. The project adopts the world’s first technology and seizes the global high-end resin market through large-scale production. It is expected to effectively drive regional economic development and employment growth.

On June 30, according to foreign media reports, Volkswagen Group, BMW Group and Mercedes-Benz and other 11 automobile and technology companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop and share advanced automotive software platforms to counter the growing dominance of the United States in the field of technology and regain control of the digital architecture of future cars.
The initiative initiated by the above 11 companies has been supported by the German automotive industry lobbying group, the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), hoping to reduce rising R&D costs and promote innovation by establishing a shared, open source core software stack.
