Overview of Chinese Exhibitors

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and the friendly exchanges between China and Malaysia have a long history. With the advancement of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), new impetus and opportunities have been brought to China-Malaysia cooperation. On August 1, the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Malaysia-China-Malaysia Entrepreneurs Symposium was held at the Conference Center of Hall 5, and outstanding Chinese and Malaysian companies gathered together. Relevant leaders from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia (MITI), the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), and the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) attended the symposium.
Malaysia Market Overview
As one of the ten members of China-ASEAN, Malaysia is a founding member of ASEAN and an important bridgehead for China’s “Belt and Road”. As of April 2021, Malaysia has signed 16 free trade agreements. Among them, 14 free trade agreements have officially come into effect and are implemented, including bilateral free trade agreements signed with 7 countries including Australia, Chile, India, Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Turkey, as well as 7 regional free trade agreements signed with China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Hong Kong, China as a member of ASEAN.
Malaysia is already one of the largest producers of automotive parts, accessories and supplies in the ASEAN region. In 2022, Malaysia has recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic, and auto sales are expected to grow by 50% to more than 630,000 units.
